Local music star Ykee Benda has issued a stern warning to Chillax Bar Lounge after the establishment advertised his performance without his consent. The “Munakampala” hitmaker took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to express his outrage, making it clear he was not booked for the advertised event.
“THIS IS FAKE. I WAS NOT BOOKED TO PERFORM HERE!!” Benda wrote in his post. He didn’t stop there, adding a pointed threat: “And whoever is responsible starting with the bar owner, you are going to serve as an example.”
The singer’s post suggests he intends to take further action against the bar, potentially legal, for the unauthorized use of his name and image. This incident highlights the ongoing issue of artists’ rights and the importance of proper booking procedures and agreements.
Benda, known for hits like “Munakampala” and as the owner of Mpaka Records, is a prominent figure in the Ugandan music scene.
