Prominent Ugandan musician Omega 256 has announced the cancellation of her highly anticipated concert scheduled for May 2025. The singer revealed the news during a recent appearance on Capital FM, citing issues with the event’s promoter.
While Omega 256 did not explicitly name the promoter during the radio interview, sources indicate it is Nobat Events. According to the musician, the cancellation stems from a lack of adequate preparation by the promoter. She stated that Nobat Events failed to provide sufficient promotional support for the concert, including the absence of widespread advertisements and banners across the city. Furthermore, Omega 256 claimed that the promoter did not properly facilitate her rehearsals leading up to the planned event.
The cancellation comes shortly after reports of apparent friction between Nobat Events and Omega 256. Notably, Nobat was observed expressing anger during a recent TikTok live session upon learning that Omega 256 had met with fellow musician Eddy Kenzo, who also serves as the president of the Uganda Musicians Federation. The connection between this apparent displeasure and the concert cancellation remains unconfirmed by either party.
